By co-locating bioreactors directly with industrial CO2 emitters, Again transforms waste gas into intermediates such as acetate and acetic acid using specialized microbes that fix carbon dioxide. These compounds serve as renewable raw materials for manufacturing adhesives, solvents, plastics, textiles, and cosmetics. The approach enables commercial-scale CO2 producers to become hubs for recycling carbon emissions, reducing reliance on fossil-derived chemicals.
Geno specializes in engineering microorganisms, primarily Escherichia coli strains, to ferment plant sugars into bio-based chemicals traditionally derived from fossil fuels.
