The Azerbaijani government announced a mandatory conscription period from July 1 to July 30, 2026, calling upon citizens born between 1996 and 2008 to join active military service. This directive targets men who have reached 18 years of age by the conscription date and those under 30 who have not yet fulfilled their military obligations or qualified for deferral or exemption.

The decree also mandates that servicemen who complete their active duty during the same July period will be formally discharged and transferred to the reserve forces. This process adheres to the conditions laid out in Azerbaijan’s military legislation, specifically Article 38.1.1 of the law "On military duty and military service."

Following the presidential order, the Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with executing all necessary measures prescribed by law to ensure the conscription and reserve transition processes take place smoothly. The decree underscores the government's ongoing commitment to maintaining the operational readiness and personnel management of the Armed Forces.
