The investigation was conducted by Aviloo, a company specializing in EV battery diagnostics. It leveraged comprehensive data from battery management systems (BMS) across a wide spectrum of EV models, analyzing performance degradation, capacity loss, and the effects of varying usage patterns.

Key findings revealed that battery longevity varies significantly not only by manufacturer but also by cell chemistry and thermal management strategies. Some brands showed more consistent capacity retention, while others experienced faster reduction in usable charge over time.
