E.ON Next has announced a reduction in its overnight electric vehicle (EV) charging tariff to 6.9 pence per kilowatt-hour, equivalent to approximately 9 US cents. This new rate positions E.ON Next as the most affordable major supplier for home EV charging during off-peak hours in the UK.
The move aims to encourage EV owners to use overnight charging more extensively by reducing one of the highest recurring costs associated with electric mobility: electricity pricing outside peak periods. By incentivizing off-peak charging, E.ON Next supports grid balancing while offering consumers a chance to lower their running costs.
Electric vehicle owners on E.ON Next’s plans can expect to pay this reduced rate during overnight hours, typically late evening to early morning, aligning with times of lower overall electricity demand.
