Genesis has entered the full-sized luxury electric SUV market with the launch of the GV90, marking its most ambitious model to date. Positioned as the brand’s flagship, the GV90 combines a large three-row seating layout with upscale features aimed at high-end buyers seeking both space and refinement.

The GV90 comes in two distinct versions. The base model challenges competitors like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, while the exclusive Neolun variant targets ultra-luxury buyers, rivaling the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. This two-row Neolun edition features a standout design element: a set of pillar-less, coach-style rear doors Genesis calls the “Neolun Arch Gate.” These doors first slide then open outward on rear hinges, enhancing both aesthetics and cabin accessibility.

Inside, the Neolun GV90 transforms the interior into a sumptuous lounge. Real wood veneer floors incorporate direct heating elements, complemented by warming systems integrated into door panels and armrests. The front seats can swivel to face rear passengers when parked, creating a conversational seating arrangement that maximizes the expansive cabin space.

On the technology front, the GV90 boasts a 23.6-inch touchscreen that can extend to 24.6 inches when parked, functioning partly like a television. This is paired with a massive 25-inch head-up display replacing the traditional instrument cluster. The interface relies on Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect operating system, designed to streamline infotainment and vehicle controls.

Genesis has reinforced safety to compensate for the unconventional pillar-less architecture on the Neolun. The SUV features an integrated roll cage within a reinforced cabin structure, providing a 50 percent increase in rigidity over standard designs. A world-first roof airbag adds another layer of protection, ensuring crash performance on par with conventional SUVs.

Visually, the GV90 adheres closely to the Neolun concept initially shown in 2024. The coach door edition reveals its unique design through door handle placement and bold metallic accents replacing the traditional B-pillar. All GV90 models carry Genesis’s signature dual-line lighting that extends along the grille and front fenders, reminiscent of the G90 sedan.

Built on Genesis’s new eMP platform, specifically developed for flagship electric vehicles, the GV90 underlines the brand’s commitment to enter the luxury EV segment with a strong statement of design and technology.
