The Nio ES8 has distinguished itself as the most trusted all-electric SUV among Chinese buyers, according to a recent survey by market research firm Land Roads. Its owners demonstrated exceptional loyalty, driving strong sales momentum for the brand. The ES8 secured an industry-leading Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 85.3, signaling the highest willingness among owners to recommend the vehicle within China's electric vehicle market.
Further illustrating its market strength, over half of ES8 buyers placed their order immediately after experiencing the car, without evaluating other options. On average, owners compared the ES8 to just one rival vehicle before committing—a notably shorter decision process compared to typical car purchases. This streamlined purchasing reflects clear buyer confidence and understanding of their needs, with a strong focus on the vehicle’s standout features.
Customer satisfaction with the ES8 extends beyond loyalty metrics. The vehicle outpaced industry averages by wide margins in vital operational areas including energy replenishment, lighting, and the smart cockpit system. The product satisfaction score reached 83.9, well above the general benchmark of 70.8 among electric vehicles in China. These results highlight the ES8’s practical advantages in daily use, particularly in technology integration and user experience.
The typical ES8 owner fits the profile of a well-off family-oriented professional in their late 30s. The survey revealed that most buyers are married and living in households averaging 3.5 members, with many families having young children under school age. These owners boast higher-than-average incomes, typically employed in sectors like information technology, manufacturing, finance, and retail. Many hold managerial or business ownership roles and prioritize spending on travel, children’s education, dining, and vehicles.
Nio’s overall brand health mirrored the ES8’s success. The company posted an NPS of 81.9 for the first half of 2026, the highest among new energy vehicle brands in China. Recommendation fulfillment—actual owner referrals—was also robust, with 75.2% of ES8 buyers confirming they had recommended the SUV, exceeding the brand’s already leading figure of 74.2%.
These insights underline how Nio’s ES8 has become a pivotal product for the company, relying on both product excellence and a well-defined, loyal customer base. The vehicle’s ability to surpass owner expectations and foster rapid purchasing decisions sets it apart in a highly dynamic market.
