Retired U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Frederick Roegge will take the helm as vice president of operations at HII Mission Technologies’ nuclear and environmental team, overseeing critical facilities and projects managed for the Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration.
Roegge replaces Lauren Bruner, who moved to a new role within HII’s global security organization. In his new position, Roegge will manage complex nuclear production and environmental operations while advancing both government and commercial nuclear initiatives.
With over 30 years dedicated to national security and nuclear operations, Roegge’s experience spans commanding nuclear submarines like the USS Connecticut, leading Submarine Squadron 22 in Italy, and serving in strategic roles within U.S. Strategic Command and the Navy’s personnel and manpower policy divisions.
Before retiring from military service, Roegge held senior leadership roles, including president of the National Defense University. Afterward, he joined Holtec International as a senior vice president, chief strategy officer, and president, gaining private sector expertise in nuclear technologies.
Michael Lempke, president of HII Mission Technologies’ Global Security group, emphasized that bringing Roegge aboard reinforces their operational capabilities and supports growth in the nuclear management sector.
