Subaru has confirmed that the 2027 Solterra electric SUV will maintain its starting price under $40,000 despite a comprehensive set of upgrades introduced with the previous model year. The base Solterra Premium will start at $38,495, holding steady from the 2025 version, while the range expands with higher trim levels offering enhanced performance and features.

The 2027 Solterra lineup consists of four trims: Premium, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT. The XT trims receive a more powerful Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, combining for 338 horsepower and 323 lb-ft of torque, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about 5 seconds. These trims also boast Subaru’s “best-in-class” ground clearance of 8.3 inches. The base Premium and Limited trims use the same dual motor setup but deliver a lower output of 233 horsepower.

All trims share a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, which substantially increases the estimated driving range to up to 288 miles—up from 227 miles in earlier models. The Solterra’s updated platform is shared with the Toyota bZ, including the adoption of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. This allows access to over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers across the continent. Additionally, a new battery preconditioning system improves charging efficiency in both cold and hot conditions, enabling fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in roughly 30 minutes.

Inside, the 2027 Solterra features a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across all trims. Safety technology is anchored by Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist suite, which includes advanced features like Emergency Steering Assist, Collision Avoidance with Automatic Steering, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, DriverFocus distraction mitigation, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure Alert and Prevention, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Emergency Stop Assist.

The model is offered in six exterior colors, ranging from Harbor Mist Gray Pearl to Elemental Red Pearl and Cosmic White Pearl, as well as darker tones such as Astro Black Mica, Smoked Carbon, and Midnight Tide Mica. Pricing for the entire lineup is as follows:

  • Solterra Premium: $38,495
  • Solterra Limited: $41,395
  • Solterra Limited XT: $42,895
  • Solterra Touring XT: $45,855

Destination and delivery fees apply, varying by state and ranging from $1,475 to $1,625. Upgrading to Limited or Limited XT trims adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and a premium Harman Kardon audio system, among other enhancements.
