Wallbox has introduced the Pulsar Pro, a Level 2 electric vehicle charger designed to address the growing complexity of EV charging reimbursement in corporate fleets and workplace environments. This new charger incorporates MID-certified energy metering, enabling precise tracking of charging sessions without requiring separate metering devices.
With electric vehicles increasingly adopted by corporate fleets—responsible for a significant portion of new car registrations in the EU—the need to manage and reimburse employee charging has intensified. The Pulsar Pro’s built-in metering allows drivers to generate detailed reimbursement reports through the Wallbox App, configure tariffs based on electricity costs, and manage user access via RFID registration. Charging data can be securely transmitted to employers, fleet managers, or operators, facilitating transparent and efficient reimbursement processes.
The Wallbox Portal complements the charger’s capabilities, offering fleet managers and operators a centralized dashboard to monitor charging activity across multiple vehicles, locations, and users. This comprehensive overview supports reimbursement management across a variety of settings, including home charging, workplace stations, and shared depot facilities.
Beyond reimbursement, the Pulsar Pro includes advanced smart charging features such as integration with solar energy systems, dynamic load balancing to optimize energy use, remote management capabilities, and compliance with current and upcoming European regulations including AFIR standards. Wallbox plans to launch the Pulsar Pro across the European Union immediately, with an expected rollout in the UK and North America in the coming year.
This development reflects a broader shift toward standardized and user-friendly EV charging solutions tailored to commercial and shared-use environments, addressing a crucial pain point as electric mobility expands globally.
