Joe Giudice, the construction contractor and former reality television personality, expressed regret over his deportation in an interview with Page Six, acknowledging that his removal from the United States was ultimately his responsibility. Born in Italy but raised in New Jersey from infancy, Giudice stated he should have pursued citizenship long before facing legal consequences that resulted in his expulsion.
Giudice spent three and a half years in federal prison followed by seven months in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center before being deported. He now operates out of the Bahamas. His legal troubles stemmed from charges related to financial matters, which he characterized as "stupid" and "minimal" in nature. He stressed that he "didn't rob nobody," "take the banks for any money," or "default any mortgages."
The Giudices were indicted in 2013, and Joe and his then-wife Teresa accepted a plea deal in 2014. Joe claimed he had wanted the case to proceed to trial but was advised by his legal team to accept the agreement. He maintained that the outcome differed from what he understood would occur at sentencing.
Giudice expressed particular frustration with his multiple failed appeals of the deportation order, suggesting external forces worked against him. He has made no plans to file additional appeals but continues to struggle with separation from his four daughters—Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana—whom he shares with Teresa. His primary wish is to attend their graduations and celebrate holidays with them.
Despite his circumstances, Giudice has focused on building a life in the Bahamas through real estate ventures and branded tours. He maintained that his relationship with Teresa remains positive and expressed approval of her current husband, Luis Ruelas, describing him as respectful and good with his children. Giudice stated he is content with Teresa's continued involvement in "The Real Housewives of New Jersey."
