IHG One Rewards has launched a new promotion allowing members to buy points with a 100% bonus, effectively reducing the cost to as low as 0.5 cents per point. This offer runs until June 6, 2026, presenting an opportunity for travelers to acquire points at a significantly discounted rate.
Typically, members can purchase up to 200,000 points annually before bonuses. However, this sale temporarily increases that cap to 300,000 points pre-bonus, which means a total of 600,000 points can be bought during the promotion when including the bonus. This change gives avid members more flexibility to stockpile points for future redemptions.
To qualify for the 100% bonus, members must purchase a minimum of 5,000 points per transaction. The lowest effective cost of 0.5 cents per point applies when purchasing at least 26,000 points during a transaction. Members should be aware that bonuses and purchase thresholds may vary by account and that this promotion might be targeted, with some members experiencing different bonus levels or buying limits.
There are also limits on gifting points or receiving them as gifts, both capped at a combined 300,000 points during the promotion period, reduced by any points already gifted or received earlier in the year. This annual threshold is part of the IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions.
Members should log into their accounts to see the exact bonus percentage available to them and review all terms for eligibility and purchase restrictions. Points purchased, along with bonus points earned, do not count toward elite status qualification but can be used for free stays and rewards within the IHG portfolio.
