The City of Hesperia will begin significant road rehabilitation on Maple Avenue between Ranchero Road and Main Street starting May 18. This project covers approximately three miles of one of the city’s primary north-south corridors and seeks to improve traffic movement and public safety.

The planned work includes pavement rehabilitation, full-depth reclamation, reconstruction of ADA-compliant curb ramps, and updates to roadway signage and striping. Officials emphasize that the project will maintain current access and traffic circulation, supporting not only immediate improvements but also future development stages.

Construction is expected to span around 90 workdays, stretching through November 2026. Motorists should anticipate lane and road closures, detours, and potential delays throughout the construction zone. Drivers are advised to follow posted signs, adhere to speed limits, and cooperate with construction personnel to ensure safety.

Funding for the rehabilitation comes partly from a federal grant awarded in 2022, recognizing Maple Avenue as a critical traffic artery for the local community. The city has thanked residents and commuters for their patience and cooperation during this sizable infrastructure enhancement.
