Turkmenistan and China have reinforced their strategic partnership, agreeing to enhance collaboration in various sectors, including trade, technology, culture, and international diplomacy. This commitment emerged during talks between Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New York.

The ministers underscored the importance of multilateralism and the United Nations' central role in addressing global challenges, emphasizing adherence to the UN Charter’s principles. They recognized that frequent high-level exchanges remain vital to advancing mutual trust and bilateral relations.

Significant momentum followed the March visit of Turkmenistan’s National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to China, where he met Chinese President Xi Jinping. This visit deepened political trust and opened avenues for expanding cooperation beyond traditional areas.

Both sides reviewed prospects for intensifying ties in economic innovation, technological development, and humanitarian efforts. They also praised ongoing collaboration within the United Nations framework and pledged to continue coordinating on international platforms to support each other’s global initiatives.
