Neo4j announced its intention to acquire GraphAware, an intelligence analysis software company, to strengthen its AI-driven, graph-powered platform aimed at government customers. This strategic move seeks to provide agencies with enhanced tools for analyzing connected data and producing actionable intelligence grounded in open standards.

The acquisition aligns with Neo4j’s broader $100 million roadmap focused on developing autonomous and context-aware AI capabilities. By integrating GraphAware’s specialized analysis technology with its own graph intelligence platform, Neo4j aims to offer an alternative to existing market solutions like Palantir Gotham, emphasizing data control and collaborative investigative workflows.

GraphAware’s flagship product, Hume, is tailored for mission-critical intelligence operations across defense, law enforcement, and tax agencies. It integrates diverse data sources and contextual information to help analysts trace relationships, improve operational insight, and facilitate team collaboration. Notably, Hume has been deployed on high-security Department of War networks within the U.S. Air Force’s accredited DevSecOps cloud platform.

The combined platform will emphasize secure, interoperable intelligence sharing while allowing government organizations to maintain control over data management and deployment. Neo4j’s CEO Emil Eifrem highlighted that GraphAware will continue operating as a standalone unit under its founder and CEO Michal Bachman after closing the deal, expected in the third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

This acquisition reflects growing government demand for advanced AI-powered tools that improve data analysis, cyber capabilities, and secure information exchange, key topics slated for discussion at the upcoming 2026 Intel Summit hosted by the Potomac Officers Club.
