Israeli military forces recently conducted precise strikes in southern Gaza, resulting in the deaths of two senior Hamas commanders actively involved in orchestrating attacks against Israeli troops. Among those killed was Sakr Abu Karim, a leader of a Hamas Nukhba terrorist cell who played a key role in the October 7 infiltration near Kissufim.
According to a joint statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), Abu Karim continued to plan attacks throughout the conflict and was engaged in rebuilding Hamas’s military capabilities. His activities included weapons stockpiling and training militants for future operations, which violated the existing ceasefire agreement.
In the same operation, a Hamas communications operative was also killed. Days earlier, Israeli forces struck again in southern Gaza, killing Muhanad Othman Yassin Farwana, another senior Hamas commander responsible for multiple attack plans posing immediate threats to Israeli troops in the region.
The military emphasized that these targeted strikes were carried out with precision munitions and aerial surveillance to reduce civilian casualties. Israeli troops under Southern Command remain actively deployed in the area, committed to countering any direct threats while adhering to the ceasefire conditions.
