Deezer has rolled out a free AI music detection tool that lets users identify songs created using artificial intelligence. Designed to operate across multiple streaming platforms—including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and SoundCloud—the tool claims over 99 percent accuracy by analyzing subtle patterns typical of AI-generated tracks.
Available in 27 languages, the detector responds to growing demand from listeners who want clarity on whether their playlists include synthetic music. Deezer’s research revealed that nearly half of users migrating from other platforms have AI tracks in their libraries, while a significant majority expect AI-generated content to be clearly labeled. The platform has reported that AI songs now constitute around 44 percent of new uploads, with roughly 75,000 such tracks added daily.
The launch comes amid ongoing debates over AI’s role in music creation. While companies like Spotify and Universal Music Group have struck licensing deals enabling users to craft AI-generated covers and remixes, artists and creators voice concerns about AI’s impact on originality and human expression. Deezer’s CEO Alexis Lanternier emphasized the company’s commitment to transparency after more than a year of developing the detection technology, marking it as a pioneering effort in the streaming industry to empower listeners with information about the origins of their music.
