Former U.S. President Donald Trump has called for a significant expansion of the Abraham Accords, urging countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan to join the normalization framework alongside ongoing talks with Iran. Trump envisions a comprehensive regional settlement that would unite multiple Middle Eastern and South Asian nations under a broader peace and cooperation strategy.

In a detailed statement on his social media platform, Trump highlighted the progress of negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing them as “proceeding nicely.” He emphasized the stakes, warning that talks could either produce a “Great Deal for all” or lead to intensified conflict. Trump framed the expansion of the Abraham Accords as mandatory for countries participating in the regional agreement, making their signing a prerequisite for inclusion.

Donald Trump identified key leaders with whom he recently held discussions, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Though the UAE and Bahrain are already Abraham Accords members, Trump stressed that Saudi Arabia and Qatar should sign immediately, with others to follow, underscoring that refusal would reflect poorly on a country’s intentions.

Trump has also floated the idea that Iran itself might eventually join the Abraham Accords if a comprehensive nuclear and regional pact is finalized. He claimed several regional leaders would welcome Iran’s inclusion once the agreement is signed, marking a historic transformation in Middle Eastern diplomacy.

The former president praised the Abraham Accords as a notable success, attributing a “Financial, Economic, and Social BOOM” to its member states. Besides the UAE and Bahrain, he cited Morocco, Sudan, and Kazakhstan as beneficiaries of the accord’s economic and social impacts. Trump suggested that a wider settlement incorporating Iran and Arab nations could create a united and powerful Middle East with significant economic strength.

He added that U.S. representatives have been instructed to initiate the process of broadening the accords to include these additional countries. The proposal aims to build a stronger regional alliance poised to ensure stability and cooperation across a historically tumultuous area.
