Bitcoin has recently broken above $62,000, sparking renewed investor interest after ETF inflows reversed nearly two weeks of capital outflows. Data from Farside Investors revealed that a substantial Bitcoin spot ETF inflow occurred, driving a notable price increase. This momentum pushed Bitcoin toward the $64,000 resistance level as traders speculated on further gains fueled by weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs numbers, which heightened expectations for future interest rate cuts.
Amid this price bounce, crypto analyst Axel Adler Jr. highlighted a significant technical indicator: the Bitcoin Advanced Net UTXO Supply Ratio. This metric measures the net balance of Bitcoin supply in profit versus loss states. Recently, the ratio plunged deep into negative territory, generating a green “BUY” signal—the first since November 2022. That prior signal coincided with a market bottom and a subsequent price recovery. For the current signal to confirm a sustained uptrend, the ratio must remain above zero while Bitcoin gains further ground in the coming weeks.
Still, challenges linger for Bitcoin’s short-term outlook. Several major mining companies, including Riot Platforms, Mara Holdings, and Hut 8 Mining, have offloaded BTC holdings to cope with rising operational costs. Analyst Crypto Onchain linked this surge in miner outflows to selling pressures that may dampen Bitcoin’s price. In parallel, Binance’s stablecoin netflows have averaged negative $126 million daily, while funding rates remain positive, suggesting that miners and “smart money” are reducing spot exposure even as smaller retail investors attempt to buy during dips.
Historically, such a dynamic—legacy large holders selling while retail traders increase leveraged longs—has often preceded significant price corrections and intense liquidations. This pattern suggests that although Bitcoin’s Advanced Net UTXO Supply Ratio signals a potential buying opportunity, the broader market risks point toward a possible deeper decline ahead. These factors introduce caution for investors hoping for a rapid, sustained rally.
