Israeli Defense Forces eliminated a senior Hamas official in Khan Yunis who managed the transfer of millions of dollars to the group’s military wing. Ihab Khrizim’s death was described as a critical blow to Hamas’s efforts to rebuild and finance its armed operations.
Khrizim oversaw crucial financial operations that directly supported terror activities against Israeli civilians and military personnel. According to Israeli military officials, his ongoing violation of the ceasefire agreement facilitated imminent attacks within the Gaza Strip and against the State of Israel.
The strike on Khrizim’s vehicle in Khan Yunis was captured on footage showing the car engulfed in flames, signalling a precise and targeted operation. Alongside Khrizim, Israeli forces also eliminated Mohammed al-Habash, a Hamas operative involved in manufacturing weapons for the group.
In a related operation, Mohammed Odeh, a key intelligence figure within Hamas’s military wing linked to the deadly October 7 attacks, was also killed. Odeh had recently taken leadership of the intelligence unit, succeeding another senior Hamas commander who died in an earlier Israeli strike. Odeh was implicated in multiple attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians.
The death of Odeh and his family members was publicly mourned in Gaza City with a heavily attended funeral, where supporters displayed Hamas flags amid chants and gunfire, coinciding with preparations for the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha.
Israeli officials framed these targeted killings as critical moves to disrupt Hamas’s command and funding structures amid ongoing conflict, aiming to hinder the group’s ability to conduct further attacks.
