The U.S. Department of War unveiled its fourth batch of files on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), offering new insights into UFO encounters across decades. This latest release includes 40 documents that span from early Cold War investigations to recent military sightings, providing a broader perspective on unexplained aerial objects.
Among the files is a compelling account from 2015 detailing an unidentified, diamond-shaped object spotted near a nuclear weapons facility in Texas. According to the report, the object silently hovered in restricted airspace, prompting a lockdown as officers attempted to intercept it. They observed no visible propulsion system and reported the object disappearing while traveling north after a brief visual encounter lasting up to two minutes.
Also included is a 2019 sighting over the eastern United States, where a military aviator and four personnel witnessed a small, high-speed UAP traveling in a straight line against their direction. The aviator described the object's flight attributes as unlike anything experienced in nearly three decades of Air Force and Navy service. Multiple attempts to capture footage ended as the object abruptly moved out of view.
The documents further comprise historical archives from the late 1940s, including Project Sign files—one of the earliest U.S. Air Force investigations into flying objects—and a transcript from a 1949 Los Alamos conference featuring prominent physicists who had worked on the Manhattan Project. These materials shed light on the longstanding government interest in UAPs during the formative years of aerospace defense.
Additional reports cover various sightings captured via military sensors worldwide. Footage shows unusual objects over the Yellow Sea and East China Sea in 2025, the Gulf of America in 2019, and the western United States in 1996. Notably, one infrared sensor detection over the Yellow Sea revealed a six-pointed star-shaped object, evoking similarities to an eight-pointed star observed in footage from 2013 included in the Pentagon’s first UFO document release.
The files also detail a UAP sighting above the Atlantic Ocean in 2020 described as a large, distorted balloon-like object with a maroonish hue measuring approximately 12 to 15 feet in height. Witnesses noted the object drifted passively with the wind without any maneuvers or directional changes, reinforcing the diverse nature of UAP phenomena documented by government sources.
