Kia has introduced the EV3 to North American buyers as a competitively priced electric SUV, starting at $29,890 in the United States. This model represents Kia's entry-level electric vehicle and ranks among the most budget-friendly EVs available in the US market.

The EV3 is offered in five distinct trims: Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT, each catering to a range of preferences and needs. The entry-level Light model, equipped with a 58.3 kWh battery and front-wheel drive, delivers an EPA-estimated range of up to 221 miles on a single charge. Higher trims are fitted with an 81.4 kWh battery, boosting range to approximately 321 miles. Front-wheel-drive variants come with a 201-horsepower motor, while all-wheel-drive options—available at a $3,200 premium—add a rear motor for a combined output of 261 horsepower. The GT trim offers enhanced performance with up to 288 horsepower.

Charging convenience is a priority for the EV3, which features a native NACS port compatible with Tesla Superchargers without needing an adapter. The smaller battery charges from 10% to 80% in about 29 minutes on a 350 kW DC fast charger, while the larger battery reaches the same level in roughly 31 minutes.

In Canada, the EV3 starts at CA$36,995, making it the most affordable electric vehicle in that market. It shares the same trim and battery options as in the US, with the 58.3 kWh battery offering an estimated 356 km range and the larger battery delivering up to 517 km. The Canadian pricing includes additional fees and freight costs, resulting in an all-in starting price near CA$39,744 for the base Light trim.

The EV3’s interior features Kia’s new connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), spanning nearly 30 inches of digital screens, including dual 12.3-inch driver and infotainment displays plus an additional 5-inch climate control screen. Standard technologies across all trims include i-Pedal 3.0 for one-pedal driving, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, and Smart Cruise Control (SCC).

Kia confirmed that the EV3 is now available for purchase in both the US and Canada, with deliveries expected to begin shortly. This model directly challenges similarly priced electric competitors such as the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Nissan LEAF, offering a compelling mix of range, technology, and affordability.
