The Arkansas State Police announced the opening of its recruitment window for Troop School 2027-A, a law enforcement training program scheduled to commence in January. Applications are being accepted from today through July 1, 2026, targeting qualified men and women interested in joining one of the state's most prominent law enforcement agencies.
Colonel Mike Hagar, Director of the Arkansas State Police, framed the recruitment effort as part of a broader reinvestment in the agency. "With the return of The Big Hat Law has come a renewed investment in our Troopers," Hagar stated. "This is more than a job – it's a calling. We're looking for the best of the best who are ready to step up, serve with honor, and wear the hat with pride." The program accepts both certified and non-certified applicants, making it accessible to candidates at different career stages.
The recruitment initiative carries backing from state leadership. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders emphasized the connection between law enforcement expansion and public safety. "Arkansas is investing in the next generation of state Troopers because we know that more law enforcement equals safer streets, safer communities, and a safer state," Sanders said. "There is no better state to serve in law enforcement than Arkansas, and I encourage anyone who shares the Arkansas State Police's values of bravery, integrity, and public service to apply."
Candidates selected for the program will join a law enforcement tradition spanning 91 years and recognized nationally. The state has structured the position to include competitive compensation and benefits packages designed to attract qualified personnel to public safety work.
Prospective applicants can access detailed information about Troop School requirements and the application process through the Arkansas Department of Public Safety website or by contacting the ASP Recruiting Office directly.
