Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia have stepped up their efforts to expand collaboration in artificial intelligence and the digital economy, emphasizing investment growth, skills development, and innovation. The discussion took place during an online meeting led by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, alongside Saudi representatives from the Uzbekistan-Saudi Business Council and the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).
The Saudi delegation, including co-chairman Mohammed Abunayyan and DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya, outlined prospects for advancing Uzbekistan’s digital economy. Both sides analyzed Uzbekistan’s investment climate, business environment, and the potential of digital technologies to raise productivity and fuel economic expansion. Institutional support for the digital sector, funding for innovation, and ongoing economic reforms were key points on the agenda.
Discussions also addressed adopting global best practices in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence applications, data economy, fintech, and digital education. The participants deliberated on methods to attract investments and intensify bilateral economic links. The meeting underscored the importance of coordinating digital economy policies closely with relevant government bodies to ensure impactful implementation.
Following the dialogue, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia agreed to continue detailed reviews of proposed initiatives, aligning them with Uzbekistan’s national development priorities. This ongoing cooperation aims to strengthen ties and explore promising opportunities in AI, digital innovation, and fintech sectors.
