Prosper AI, a New York-based artificial intelligence company, announced a $30 million Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Y Combinator, Base10, Emergence Capital, and Company Ventures. The platform helps healthcare organizations automate patient interactions, aiming to reduce administrative burdens and improve service efficiency.
Over six months, Prosper AI boosted its sales fivefold by onboarding more than 40 new healthcare providers. Its core technology enables healthcare organizations to deploy patient-facing voice agents quickly, often within days, by uploading existing FAQ and question-answering content. More advanced clients can further integrate these agents with their internal systems, extending set-up but enhancing functionality.
The AI platform handles critical tasks including scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling doctor appointments by gathering patient information and syncing with backend systems. Beyond appointment management, Prosper AI responds to billing inquiries, sends prescription renewal reminders, and notifies patients about routine checkups. Insurance companies also leverage the software to manage information requests from providers.
Prosper AI claims an average 99% accuracy rate in handling diverse patient queries, supported by built-in quality assurance tools that allow healthcare staff to simulate calls and monitor agent performance post-launch. When the AI encounters uncertain requests, it escalates them to human agents, ensuring reliable service continuity.
The company highlights that its platform can cut administrative costs for healthcare organizations by over 40%, while simultaneously reducing patient hold times and minimizing manual errors in appointment scheduling. The model integrates multiple essential functions—such as scheduling, insurance verification, and billing—into a single workflow, simplifying provider operations and payment processes.
