President Donald Trump reported progress in negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program, stating that Tehran had concurred with almost all the demands set by the United States. He underlined that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons remains the core objective of the administration’s strategy.

In an interview with CNBC, Trump characterized the US approach as a “denuking” effort rather than a traditional military campaign, underscoring that regime change was not the goal. Instead, the focus was on ensuring Iran never acquires a nuclear arsenal. Trump also highlighted significant military operations undertaken by the US to weaken Iran’s forces, claiming to have inflicted heavy damage on Iranian military assets through multiple strikes.

Trump detailed a series of targeted military actions in response to Iranian provocations, including drone attacks on ships. He described enforcing a naval blockade—called a “wall of steel”—to prevent supplies from reaching Iran by sea, asserting that no ship had successfully broken through. According to Trump, these measures contributed to severe economic pressure on Iran, including soaring inflation.

Looking ahead, Trump expressed conditional willingness to supply Iran with agricultural products like corn, wheat, and soybeans, linked to a successful nuclear agreement. He also defended US naval operations in the Strait of Hormuz as effective in stabilizing global oil prices and preventing economic shocks.

Iran maintains its nuclear program is for peaceful civilian use, a position long disputed by Washington and allied countries concerned about potential weaponization. The ongoing negotiations reflect high-stakes diplomacy amid escalating military tensions and economic sanctions.
