Uzbekistan and Türkiye intensified their dialogue on environmental cooperation during high-level talks focused on preparations for the 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31). The discussions centered on Uzbekistan’s active participation and logistical planning for the Antalya summit.

A delegation from Uzbekistan’s National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, led by a senior deputy minister, met with Türkiye’s Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Turkish officials overseeing COP31 coordination and climate policy joined the discussions, highlighting a shared commitment to fostering regional and global sustainability.

Key topics included Uzbekistan’s national pavilion setup at COP31, the organization of side events, and bilateral meetings. Turkish representatives commended Uzbekistan’s recent environmental reforms under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, recognizing the country’s expanding role in climate initiatives. Both sides reiterated their dedication to strengthening bilateral environmental cooperation and aligning their climate agendas ahead of the summit.
