El Paso has initiated construction on a new advanced manufacturing facility adjacent to its international airport, a project designed to generate local employment and reinforce the region’s aerospace and defense industries. The groundbreaking ceremony marked a significant step toward a building expected to be operational within a year, bringing new opportunities to the community.
The city highlighted that the $30 million investment will help retain local talent by providing jobs that previously required residents to seek work elsewhere. Officials emphasized that the project aims to strengthen the economic fabric by attracting high-quality positions and supporting small to medium-sized manufacturers as well as tech companies.
Located near the intersection of George Perry Boulevard and Global Reach Drive, close to the Marshalls Distribution Center, the facility will include office spaces designed to accommodate multiple tenants. Construction is led by Jordan Foster Construction, whose phase one efforts focus on establishing infrastructure tailored to the needs of manufacturers and technology firms.
