Google has redesigned the visual cue that signals a user’s subscription to its paid AI services by introducing a blue gradient ring around the Account profile photo. This change replaces the previous multi-colored ring that denoted Google One membership. The new indicator now appears across most first-party apps on Android devices and is progressively rolling out on the web.

The updated design offers a cleaner and more streamlined user interface. When tapping the profile photo, users see a refreshed fullscreen menu featuring a compact card layout that prominently displays the user’s email, profile picture, name, and specific AI subscription tier such as AI Plus, AI Pro, or AI Ultra. The account switcher has also been integrated into this card for easier navigation. Below that, “Manage your Google Account” is emphasized more clearly, complemented by an upsell option encouraging an upgrade to higher AI tiers.

This rollout is happening on a per-device basis for Android phones and tablets, meaning the blue gradient ring will appear simultaneously across most Google apps once active on a device. However, not all apps have implemented the new design yet. On the web, the update is gradually reaching an increasing number of users, including on high-traffic pages like google.com, though it remains in early stages of deployment. This update reflects Google’s effort to visually unify and highlight its expanding lineup of AI-powered subscription services.
