Ghana marked the 2026 Africa Bitcoin Day with an event aimed at enhancing awareness of Bitcoin and its role in the digital economy. Held at the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), the program gathered over 500 students, educators, and staff for educational sessions focused on cryptocurrency adoption and its practical applications.

This continentwide initiative, led by the Africa Bitcoin Community Hub (ABC Hub), is now in its fourth year and took place simultaneously in countries including Togo, Nigeria, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa, and Kenya. The primary goal of the event is to bridge the gap between digital currency knowledge and everyday users, equipping participants with the tools to navigate emerging financial technologies.

Facilitators from ABC Hub and partner organizations such as BitDevs Accra, Bitfiasi, and BitSpenda guided attendees through lessons on Bitcoin fundamentals, financial literacy, and career opportunities in fintech. Speakers emphasized responsible innovation and cautioned against scams and unrealistic investment claims frequently encountered in cryptocurrency markets. The event sought to empower students to engage with digital currencies thoughtfully, promoting both educational growth and critical awareness of the risks involved.
