Iran’s parliament speaker declared that the country remains unwavering in defending its national rights despite ongoing pressures and regional conflicts. Speaking during a meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, he underscored Iran’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty both diplomatically and militarily.

He highlighted that Iran’s armed forces have taken significant measures to reinforce and recover their capabilities during the ceasefire period negotiated through Pakistan’s mediation. The enhancements aim to ensure a stronger response should hostilities resume, signaling Tehran’s preparedness for a harsher confrontation with its adversaries.

The ceasefire followed several weeks of escalated conflict involving military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets, and retaliatory missile and drone attacks by Iran on U.S. and Israeli bases across the region. This conflict notably disrupted commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime passage for global energy supplies.

Despite the ceasefire and subsequent diplomatic talks held in Islamabad, tensions persist as nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States have stalled, with no agreement reached. In this context, Pakistan emphasized its desire for peaceful relations and stability moving forward.

Adding to the complexity, the speaker mentioned the recent U.S. naval blockade imposed on Iran and noted that Washington currently plans to lift it, reflecting the fluid nature of ongoing geopolitical pressures surrounding Tehran.
