BYD has initiated pre-sales of the Da Han, its new flagship electric sedan within the Dynasty series, boasting a rear-wheel-drive model with an official range of up to 1,008 kilometers under the CLTC standard. The Da Han aims to strengthen BYD’s presence in the premium electric vehicle segment with a large luxury sedan positioned above the existing Han model.

The new Da Han EV is available in three variants: two rear-wheel-drive versions and one all-wheel-drive variant. The rear-wheel-drive LiDAR Premium version, featuring the highest range, is priced at approximately $36,850, while the LiDAR Flagship rear-wheel-drive model costs around $39,700. The top-tier all-wheel-drive LiDAR Flagship variant, with a range of up to 880 kilometers, commands a price near $44,200.

Measuring over 5.2 meters in length and with a carefully optimized aerodynamic profile (drag coefficient of 0.197), the Da Han offers performance and comfort. The rear-wheel-drive models use a single electric motor producing 370 kW, whereas the all-wheel-drive includes an additional 200 kW front motor, combining to 570 kW (764 horsepower). This AWD version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 270 km/h.

Among the vehicle’s notable features are a dual-chamber air suspension system called DiSus-A, rear-wheel steering that reduces its turning radius to 4.95 meters, and cutting-edge ultra-fast flash charging technology. Inside, the Da Han offers a high-end experience with dual zero-gravity front seats, LiDAR-equipped God’s Eye B driver-assistance, smart dimming privacy glass, and a 31-speaker Devialet sound system standard across all trims.

Battery capacity for the Da Han can reach up to 102.326 kWh, enabling the impressive long range in rear-wheel-drive variants. When braking from 100 km/h, the AWD model can stop within 32.83 meters, demonstrating its safety focus.

In addition to the pure electric versions, BYD plans to introduce a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine combined with an electric motor outputting 200 kW. Pre-sales for this hybrid model have not started yet.

The Da Han EV complements BYD’s flagship lineup, which also includes the Da Tang SUV, as part of the Dynasty 9-series aiming at premium electric and hybrid vehicles. The launch reflects BYD’s strategy to advance within the competitive electric D-segment market.
