The Tailgate Market has returned to Mercer County as May begins, with vendors setting up in the parking lot of the VOTECH Center. Farmers, bakers, and artisan craftspeople gathered to sell homemade items ranging from fruit preserves to custom clothing, drawing from local businesses in the Princeton community.

The market will operate on Saturdays and Wednesdays until October 31. Different local businesses are rotating through as vendors at the temporary outlet, creating a rotating marketplace that showcases regional producers and craftspeople.

Allison Whitehouse, co-owner of His Table Bakehouse, highlighted the character of the market. "I think what we have here is a lot of heart and love," she said, adding that her baking centers on connection with the community. "Like I always say, my special ingredient is love. I just love to bake and to feed people."

Bakers and local food sellers have been preparing their offerings in advance, with production of cakes, cookies, and bread beginning the evening before market days. The variety of goods available reflects the range of local talent and entrepreneurship in the region, from preserved goods to freshly baked items.
