Fiat has introduced the Multiplina, a new electric vehicle concept that draws on the heritage of its original Multipla and the iconic Fiat 500. Designed as a tiny, city-focused EV, the Multiplina aims to offer practical urban mobility without the bulk of a traditional car.

The concept builds on the foundation of the Fiat Topolino microcar, but meets a higher quadricycle standard. This upgrade promises a notable boost in performance over the Topolino’s limited capabilities—targeting a top speed of 55 miles per hour and extending range beyond the latter’s estimated 46 miles. These improvements aim to make the Multiplina a more viable option for daily drives in congested metropolitan areas.

Fiat envisions the Multiplina bridging the gap between novelty electric vehicles and more established city cars, such as the electric 500. By offering a smaller vehicle that remains functional for city commuters, Fiat hopes to attract buyers seeking a simpler alternative to full-sized cars, avoiding the typical complexities involved in traditional vehicle ownership.

Alongside the Multiplina, Fiat revealed the Tris Dolcevita, a three-wheeled electric delivery vehicle tailored for the hospitality industry. With a vintage, open-air design, the Tris Dolcevita is ideally suited for transporting guests around sprawling resorts, vineyards, or chateaus, blending practicality with a distinct aesthetic charm.

Both models remain concepts for now, with full details expected later in the year. For those eager to experience a compact Fiat EV immediately, the Topolino is confirmed to be coming to the U.S. market soon, offering an accessible entry into Fiat’s line of micro electric vehicles.
