Meta has imposed a monthly usage cap on Conversation Focus, an AI feature in its smart glasses that amplifies the voice of the person the wearer faces in noisy environments. Users can access this feature for free up to three hours each month, after which they must pay a $19.99 monthly fee through a Meta One Premium subscription to extend usage.

This subscription offers 15 hours of Conversation Focus per month, but unused hours do not carry over. Premium device support is currently limited to English speakers in the United States and Canada. Without a subscription, the feature remains available but restricted by the capped hours. Conversation Focus was introduced as a software update for existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta HSTN glasses, which use built-in open-ear speakers to isolate and enhance voices in noisy settings.

The Meta One subscription is still in a limited testing phase and is not widely available, with features and pricing varying depending on location and account type. Eligible users accessing the AI feature currently span countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, several European nations, and parts of Asia and the Middle East. Meta’s AI glasses range in price from $299 to $379 for newer Ray-Ban models, positioning the subscription as an additional cost to unlock a key smart function.
