8090 Solutions has closed a $135 million Series A funding round led by Salesforce Ventures, marking a significant boost for the AI software development startup. Founded in 2024 and based in Menlo Park, California, the company aims to transform how applications are built and maintained by leveraging artificial intelligence to automate coding processes.
The startup’s core product, Software Factory, enables developers to accelerate project delivery by authoring natural language documents rather than writing traditional code. These documents define an application’s requirements and design individual components, such as databases or payment systems, allowing AI agents to translate them into executable code automatically. This process not only speeds up development but also simplifies updates by letting developers revise the natural language documents, with the platform running quality tests before deploying any changes.
Among the notable participants in the funding round are Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora, Quora co-founder Adam D’Angelo, and other industry leaders. Chamath Palihapitiya, the venture capitalist behind 8090, highlights that the platform serves clients across highly regulated sectors, including healthcare, insurance, aerospace, financial services, and even government bodies. These organizations benefit from faster innovation cycles and improved operational efficiencies compared to competitors.
In addition to standalone access, 8090 offers an Enterprise service where the company manages the full software development lifecycle—from building to hosting and maintaining applications—using the Software Factory platform. A standout feature is the platform’s ability to analyze customer feedback automatically, prioritizing the most common feature requests, which eliminates the manual workload typically required from project managers.
The new funding will support 8090 in scaling its technology and expanding its market reach within demanding industries that require compliance with strict regulations. By automating complex development tasks, 8090 positions itself as a key player in the growing field of AI-powered software automation, aiming to reduce time-to-market and lower costs for enterprises worldwide.
